Stitches from the heart

Stitches from the Heart

While I was making this lovely heart pattern a song from my distant GenX past kept coming to my mind. It was a song by Rush and I have always loved their music and I love it even more now:

And the men who hold high places
Must be the ones who start
To mold a new reality
Closer to the heart
Closer to the heart The blacksmith and the artist
Reflect it in their art
They forge their creativity
Closer to the heart
Yes closer to the heart Philosophers and ploughmen
Each must know his part
To sow a new mentality
Closer to the heart
Yes closer to the heart, yeah You can be the captain
And I will draw the chart
Sailing into destiny
Closer to the heart
Closer to the heart Well closer to the heart, yeah
Closer to the heart
Closer to the heart
I said closer to the heart Well closer to the heart yeah
Closer to your heart
Closer to your heart

Isn’t that a great song. The lyrics totally rock with my heart. The words are more meaningful to me in 2021 than when this song was release so many years ago.

Here is the music:

This free pattern from the Fat Quarter Shop is so cute! It makes a lovely wall hanging or table topper. I was a little skeptical on using triangles on a roll but it make the Half Square triangles so easy to make and they are so perfectly accurate that my quilt came together in a snap! I love those sharp points!

I used my scraps but you can buy a lovely kit from the FQS here! I can’t wait to quilt this in time for Valentine’s day and show you the finished result!

I hope to have glamor shots in the snow for the final look at this adorable quilt!

Lets all forge our creativity closer to the heart in 2021,

Quilt on!

Vicki
