Unbelievable that this is July 1! I am totally regretting not taking Monday off work because it’s going to be a busy day with few staff working because of the holiday on Tuesday. Oh well, I have vacation the next week of July 10 and I am taking a solo trip to Virginia to see my daughter and her family. I finally got my plane ticket, and I am ready. So happy it is a non-stop flight!
The air quality has been so bad this week. I took a day off because I was not having a good breathing day. It should improve soon but I am using my rescue inhaler more and not as active. I am not going outside when it is unhealthy. I downloaded the EPA air quality app and have become obsessed with it. I have never had to worry about air quality before the wildfires in Canada. We typically have great air quality! Something I don’t take for granted and I am very grateful for however, I never had to worry about adjusting my life to poor air quality before. The sun was blotted out most of the week until yesterday we did see the sun in the afternoon. It’s wearing me out and I need more rest/sleep. It’s like a bad horror movie!
I did finish long arming two custom Queen-sized quilts for my friend. I am really happy with how they turned out! I am thrilled she was so happy with them. I was worried maybe I had forgotten how to long arm but once I started it just flowed. I am working on another friend’s quilt and I hope to get it done this week. It is not as heavily quilted so it should be done before I go. These two photos represent months of work!

I have not done any sewing. I feel that I have to have my attention focused on one quilt project at a time and I am on a long arming roll, so I am going to keep going until my stack is quilted!! I do have my granny square quilt top partially put together so maybe I can work on that at some point as well as the July sew scrappy spools . Otherwise, I have been doing cross stitch because it is easy to do in my chair. This week I was catching up on the temperature stitch.
I am looking at a quiet weekend. I have been keeping up on my 100-day project of meditation, music and making. I hope to do the music more, but I am practicing the mandolin about 4 days a week and noticing improvements each time! My fingers and hands need to build up strength to be able to play more honestly! I am making daily and hope to get some watercolors out this weekend. I also want to print some stickers with the Cricut. I have lots of inspiration, now I just have some time to work on the projects and to be honest I have the rest of the summer for my 100-day project!
I am so looking forward to my coffee this morning, I slept way too much and need some ambition!
