Make It Monday

Welcome to Make it Monday! I want to share what I have been making and if there is a pattern, video or tutorial I will include it with my version of it. I am always looking for a free tutorial or class to try and I thought you may enjoy it too!

Did you know that Michael’s offers free Zoom classes? You can watch it live and work along . If you have a question you can type it in the chat. OR you watch it when it goes up on YouTube a few days later. If you are like me I watch it first and then I try making it again referring to the replay if needed. It is very well done and lasts one hour.

I watched this water color and gel pen class. I used what I had on hand. I was really fascinated with the combo. I could have let each “pipe” dry more but the teacher said that sometimes the blending of pipe colors was a cool effect. Next time I will let them dry before each layer. I also didn’t add any embellishments with pen just words. I was really please with the results!!

I want to use the pages as part of art journal pages in the future. Until I start making the art journal, I will keep making pages that can be used in that project. I have a lot to learn about painting, doodling and mixed media.

This was a fantastic class and really a great way to practice mindfulness, too. I hope you try it!! Check out the teacher’s Instagram page, it’s very inspiring!
