Believe it or not it has been warmer than average this past week, but it has been raining all day nearly every day. A hot, soggy dreary week in weather. I was really hoping for improvements but the forecast says light snow for Monday and Tuesday. It’s that time of the year. I have known the snow was coming. If it dries up enough this week, I need to get the yard solar lights put away and the fairy garden pack up. Chores I really don’t enjoy.
I am excited that I sewed one of the last set of 4 blocks for the Sew Scrappy Spools. I have the last three to sew and then get busy with the layout! I am not sure I will have it done next month but I am going to try. I have started the fpp quilt along Petite Four so I have my next qal going. I saw all the qal that Fat Quarter Shop is doing next year and there are some really pretty ones! I am going to just wait and see what I am inspired to work on as the year progresses. I am drawn to the Lori Holt quilts, no surprise there!
I have spent much of my evenings doing cross stitch. I can’t wait to finish the ornaments on Lugana because I would rather stitch on Aida. It’s easier to see. I want to catch up on the temperature project and work a little on the Halloween stitch I started. I am not speedy on these projects and when my hands hurt, I stop. I honestly don’t understand how Kimberly Jolly stitches so fast. I have to remember it is her job and she has a team of people who help her with finishes, too, I watched her live this week about dying your own cloth. I have some old aida cloth that was given to me that this would be perfect for and I am going to try it! I love Kimberly because she is as uncomfortable in the kitchen as I am!!
International quilt market has started, and I am watching the booth set ups as well as the school house sessions. I really want to go one year to see the quilt show that happens after the market for professionals and shop owners. One day I will get there, I have to leave some plans for after I retire! When I see these events, it does inspire me to do some quilting. Have you ever been? Any tips for attending this big show?
I believe my coffee is done and I have no plans for this weekend. I am going to try to get a couple of things cleaned up and see when my football teams play! I think I need to get my hexies out for a change of pace on hand work.

I am really going to get going on the Christmas quilt that is on the long arm for Christmas door quilt at work. I am hoping that the early snow get me feeling more into a holiday vibe myself!! Have a great week!

My mantra these days seems to be “after I retire”. I have so many things I want to do. The eye fatigue after work is really making it impossible to get much done. Just a little cross-stitching. My eyes are like your hands! But I did finish a mini pumpkin quilt to hang at work (thanks for the inspiration!) last week. I am also working on some I Spy quilts for a few special kiddos in my life. I have been collecting fat quarters for quite some time and think I have enough to get started. Quilt market looks fun! But I am almost afraid to look and get more ideas. Hahaha! Enjoy your early snow. I hope it’s just enough to bring on the cozy winter vibe without being your full fledged winter yet!
