Make it Monday!

I have been falling in love with cross stitch. I completed the coffee up with a maple leaf ornament this weekend. I realized after looking for an hour all through the craft room that I forgot to order the sticky circles recommended to mount the cross stitch into the tart tin ornament. I decided that I could figure this out without spend more money and I really didn’t have time to wait for the circles to come in the mail. So, I fired up my Cricut and cut out circles from cardboard and mounted them myself! Here is the finishing tutorial I used to make my little ornament!

Here is my tier tray with the other ornaments I have finished. There will be 6 of the 12 in tart tins from the Autumn Days Ornaments Pattern at Fat Quarter Shop.

While I had my Cricut and cardboard out, I cut more floss drops from the svg file I bought on Etsy. I need to get my floss on drops for each project. I cut the orange cardstock and glued that on the cardboard to make it pretty. I can use pencil to write the floss number and the company on the drop. I put them on a ring to keep them from getting tangled!

Ps My winter project is to get all my floss either on drops or in a vinyl bag this winter because they are getting mangled in a project bag!!

Hope you have a great Monday!

  1. I tackled the floss project this summer and it sure makes cross stitch life easier. I put them all in a few plastic boxes in numerical order. I found a very inexpensive Etsy printable DMC floss tracker so I could see exactly what I have and made a system to indicate if a color was kitted up. But I tend to have 2 or 3 skeins of each so not a problem. I’m starting to get a few specialty flosses specifically for certain charts but they just go straight into the project bag. Everything goes in 2 drawers of a dresser. Despite all the enabling flosstubes 😂, I’m keeping my WIP’s to 10. So far. The little bags are great and your floss drops are cute! It will be a great winter project!
