I am home riding out a blizzard. The winds were strong last night, and more snow is to come for the next couple of days. We are all set on having everything we need for the weekend, and it is a time to just stay home and keep busy as we wait for the storm to pass. The house is warm and cozy as the winds howl. I got up early to the sounds of the plow trucks rolling by trying to stay ahead of the storm’s snowfall on the roads.
It’s January. We get snow and cold. Winter is making itself known as we had an unusually warm December after one big snow early in the month. I have plenty of things to do on this 3-day weekend, so I am not at a loss for choice. I started this month’s pineapple blocks for the qal.

I wish I had enough of this fabric to do all 8 squares, but I don’t. I am using my stash and will keep finding fabric to use that are lighter in overall color.
There is a large amount of energy that storms bring to the weekend. Some nervous energy that the power may go out. Then it is about waiting to dig out when the time is right. Then it is about keeping your mind occupied so you don’t just fritter your time away doing nothing but worry, overeat and realize that there is nothing you really want to watch on the TV. Nothing really interesting on social media and you really have to dig deep to keep busy and focus on something. Maybe we will watch a movie today or a show series we started. Maybe because I got up so early, a nap is in order this afternoon!
I hope to finish my Christmas cross stitch this weekend, record a podcast, knit a few rows on my wrap and long arm a couple of rows. I really am looking forward to having Monday off too and this weekend I am not over booking myself with projects and to dos. It’s a settle in, and let the weekend unfold as it wants. Mid-winter is all about just being still and see where the energy takes you. Maybe it’s a 3-day hibernation period!
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend and stay warm! I will and if I need to dig out a few more quilts to snuggle under, I will do that!

Wow, I love Quilting so much. I learned of my Father many years ago. Please keep flowing me. Please. I am smiling 😃. I am addicted to Quilting. I hide my stash 🤩 . Rafters 💯%. We have a saying here. ” if you want to stay married, hide your stash.”
