It has warmed up and the snow is melting. It has been a week full of challenges and problem solving. Things like where is that water sound coming from? The snow melted and turned on an outside spigot because it was so deep and pulled the handle down. Also, why am I so tired this week? I am tired because I was busy! To help remedy that, I had a routine medical checkup, I got a little more sleep, a little more time to sit and stitch in my chair in the evenings and watch a few shows.
January is usually the month to stay home more and hibernate. I have enjoyed it as we have had a couple of winter storms and now the January thaw. I am planning my garden, vacations this year and dreaming of what I would like to accomplish in 2024 all while balancing not overcommitting myself. I do love a good cuppa with a sit and think.
Maybe we will take an epic road trip out west this fall. Drive and see sights that we didn’t see in the past, like the Four Corners area of Utah, Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona. It’s still in the idea stages and my husband generally plans the trips. Sounds like a lot of fun!
I am also really working on being healthy enough to walk, not hike, on the vacations. And so far, that is coming along. I would love to have my shawls, that I am currently knitting, finished for the trip. I think I need to shop for a new purse or backpack, too. It will take me all year to get ready!
Overall, it has been a week of January and maybe a touch of the January’s. I am going to get all of my chores done today because the Lion’s play a really big game tomorrow and I am going to be glued to that game!
Have a great weekend!
Vicki
Enjoy your slow-down! Before you know it, it will be Spring and the items on your todo list will seem to reproduce like rabbits overnight!
