Saturday Morning Coffee

This week spring has sprung around here! Leaves are growing on the trees. We had some spring rains with thunderstorms. Then the sun. I spend time on lunch and after work on these sunny days cleaning up the flower beds. I starting to dig out the grass carefully and make a plan of the work I would like to do this spring to have the garden look it’s best. First thing is lots of thinning of overgrown plants. There is so much work to do but I keep reminding myself I have all summer to work on this.

We are now a week away from the big Spring junk day. We have continued to bag up and bundle up all of the unwanted household items that are ready to go. I am excited because now that these items are going it will open up areas that I can dig into further next year. Especially in the basement storage room and second story closets.

I feel really good about accomplishing both. These jobs were physically very challenging for me, but I was able to do them in small amounts of time. I stopped when I got tired and picked up where I left off later or even the next day. The tiny things done are showing up as a lot of things done over the week.

The weekend is going to be resting. I am taking my long arm to be serviced. Then go see my son in a Gilbert and Sullivan play. We need to drive to Grand Rapids about 3 hours away. We will spend the night, have brunch with him tomorrow am and then see my parents on the way home. I look forward to seeing everyone.

Now I need to get my coffee, pack my overnight bag and get ready to go. I am looking forward to our little weekend trip.
