Saturday Morning Coffee

I had yesterday off as a vacation day. The travel plans fell through, and I was staying home instead. I watch Kimberly Jolly and Lori Holt’s live from Lori’s house promoting her newest book due out this fall. I was such a fan girl I watched it all live and have to say this is probably Lori’s best book yet!

I have been highly anticipating this video. Lori mentioned that she had moved and had a new studio earlier and I watched this video a week ago. Omg what a place

It’s really fun to see how people live and work who are “sewlebrities.” I really like Lori Holt and would love to sew more and more of her quilts. I love how she has traditional things/ideas paired with her more modern style. I like to do that in my home and creative pursuits, too.

I have been doing a lot of crochet this week making Lori’s new granny circle tutorial and using her chunky thread. It is an amazing cotton yarn to crochet with and I love working with it.

Its a Lori Holt week of inspo because I loaded the Granny Square quilt I made using her Great Granny Squared pattern

It has been our local festival this week. It is downtown and the traffic for main street is detoured, right by my house. The noise has been really loud all week and seems worse this year that past years. Last night, my husband and I decided to walk down and check it out just to see what was there and potentially see if there were any folks we knew because our high school class reunion is tomorrow. It was the usual carnival and games. I enjoyed the craft booths much more this year. We didn’t stay for the country band that was going to play but the festival is alpine themed. However, it is a town with a ton of polish heritage and the restaurant on Main Street always has a polka band playing. That’s my favorite part. I walked for an hour and then was really quite tired. This is my craft booth purchses:

Crocheted emotional support chicken for less than the price of the pattern!

I can’t pass up polished rocks and fossils!

The festival ends today and tomorrow will be like it was never there. Peace will return to the neighborhood, and I will enjoy that so much.
