This week has been a really hot week. It is the dog days of summer. I am finding that I am most comfortable and cool at home. I have been watching the Olympics and crocheting my granny circles when I am away from work.
I have taken a new approach to my exercise program. I am doing 15 min twice a day, before work and after dinner. It can be very slow and gentle yoga stretching or 15 min in the gym. Nothing to cause pain or discomfort. I just want to be moving. It works better for me to break up my workout into smaller segments and I am finding that I can be more consistent with it.

I did choose fabric for the Barn Star Quilt by Coriander Quilts. I cut it out mid week and then last night started to sew the segments after the sun went down and it felt cooler in my sewing room. It won’t take long to make the door quilt. My goal is to sew it together today and sew together the Star of Wonder quilt this weekend.
I did sit down and write my plan for sewing the seasonal door quilts for this year. I have the EPP quilt to finish from the spring but I am on schedule for the quilts that I had planned. I did take a little detour right off the bat at the beginning of the year but that’s ok. These lists are just some ideas on what my intentions are when making the quilts to hang at work. I could be inspired to make a different quilt than what I have on the list.

I have been enjoying the low key week at work and staying cool in the evenings. I really am focusing on enjoying the projects I am working on. I am trying to stay mindful and in the moment. It has really helped me find all the extraordinary things in the mundane moments of everyday life. And as you can see the garden reminds me that there is beauty that I can see every day, nature at it’s finest.
I am going out for a coffee this morning before it gets too hot.
