Saturday Morning Coffee

This week has been a week of trying to establish my routine. It quickly came back after our vacation, and I feel like I am able to do what I need to each day. I have been doing my morning routine to include tidying up the kitchen, doing my Silk and Sonder journal entry, and a 10 to 15 min exercise routine of Qigong. I knew it as Tai Chi. I can’t do a lot of exercise programs, but I still want to work on strength and flexibility. This is the routine I am going to do today.

As I get stronger, I will choose some of her longer work outs! I have found these workouts have been helpful in managing pain and improving strength as well as balance. These are free workouts you can find on YouTube.

I have to say I am thrilled the fabric I bought at MSQC is perfect for finishing up a UFO that I am calling low volume 9 patches. I dug them out before I left but stalled because I needed the right fabric to finish it. It may work as my door banner for September. Here is a progress photo

And here is a photo with the fabrics, I needed a couple of fq to finish the frames and the light green print is from Sherri and Chelsea’s Strawberry Lemonade fabric line that was reprinted. Its the perfect color for the sashing and border! I also received my Strawberry Lemonade Layer cake I put a preorder on, it’s so cool!

Fall feels like the New Year has begun since school has started. I was able to get a photo of the full harvest Moon this week, an annual fall event. Leaves are changing color, the weather is supposed to cool off this week, daylight hours are much shorter and I am slowly getting my fall decorations and quilts out.

I have a podcast to record today about all my quilty and crafty plans. I hope you tune in and listen once it has posted. Today I have to myself. I have felt a little ill this week with a touch of a bug that sapped my strength and gave everyone at home and several at the office tummy troubles. I feel that I am over that now and once the podcast is recorded I want to resume quilting, long arming and stitching while watching some football this afternoon. If I feel really extra special today I may walk to the local coffee shop next door to the quilt shop and get a coffee, breathe some fresh air and see what there is to see in the neighborhood.

Have a lovely weekend!

Vicki
