This is Thanksgiving week. My brother is hosting the family dinner tomorrow. I am looking forward to seeing my family very much. My brother is the host with the most. He decorates for every holiday and the meal is lovely. Can’t wait!
On Thanksgiving Day, I am thinking of making something different since we are having turkey tomorrow. It’s going to be my husband and I home with the traditional Lions football game. I am thinking of making a lasagna. I haven’t made one in a long time. I don’t get tired of those leftovers, lol! We will see what the store has because another idea I had is making scalloped potatoes with ham. I haven’t made that in years and it is something we like. That feels more fall and comfort food plus a pie of course!
I was interviewed for the podcast Long Covid Real Talk. I was able to share my story with some thoughts what helps me get through living with Long Covid. I hope that you take a listen because maybe it will help you or someone you love. The biggest thing I wanted people to walk away with was hope. We need to have hope and to see that it isn’t hopeless or our lives aren’t over because of illness. Our lives are just different.
I spent a lot of time this week being inspired. I love free online retreats and classes. This week was a good one. It was about slow projects, finding your Zen. Much of it was the slow stitching movement but not all of it. I loved every single class. I learned so much and hope to incorporate these ideas into my slow stitching. Slow stitching is making fabric collage and mixed media. I love it and have everything I need to start it up right here at home!
Here is the retreat web site and if it looks like something you would enjoy follow her on social or sign up for the newsletter because there will be another retreat! I am so inspired!
I truly didn’t want it to end.
I have to say I have been pulled to more hand word vs making quilts. I have to get a top done for the guild Christmas party. I have quilts to long arm. I did get my Star of Wonder wall hanging quilted and need to bind it for the holidays. That is what I am going to do for the door decorating contest. I may pull out the paper bag gingerbread houses i did last year and put them around the quilt. In addition, I am making some paint chip gingerbread for a garland to hang on the door. I saw it on TikTok. So easy!

I have many more to finish but I have time before the voting begins!
Hope you have a lovely week!!
