Saturday Morning Coffee

Its a good old fashioned winter is happening around here. We have had more snow since Thanksgiving that we had all of last year! The temps are below zero this morning and slowly warming up! I needed time to defrost my brain and think about what I wanted to write about. I have been thinking about nothing but all of this snow just like it was in my youth. Its a time when your entire life revolves around snow storms, being able to get out of the driveway, checking to see if the plows have cleared the road, have the pipes frozed, is the heat working, do we have enough food to make a few days just in case we can’t make it out. So far we have not lost power or internet.

My husband even bought snow shoes because it has been years since we have had enough snow to even use them. I think I will pass on snowshoeing because it makes my lungs and face hurt, lol.

I am going to decorate my house in a good old-fashioned way, since we are having a gool old fashioned winter already. Less is more. Not over the top and not too materialistic or consumerism in decorating or gift giving. Small tree, lots of lights, candles, pine boughs, dried oranges and maybe cranberries. I really like keeping it simple. I really enjoy the simple, slow living.

I have been crafting and making. Keeping up with my Detroit Lions football games and watching some shows. I am settling in for a long winter and counting the days until Solstice when the day light starts to return! I am so looking forward to the daylight returning!

My Lori Holt stitchy stars are challenging, only two left for this table runner! I am so excited that I have really sharp points for the most part!

I have only a little more of a cuff to knit on my sweater wrap. Maybe I can model it next week! As soon as it is done it will be used to stay warm!

Friday the 13th right before a full moon made the day extra with all the strangeness and weirdness my job can bring. And the icing on the cake was I dropped my work computer and broke the screen yesterday. It was one of the busiest days in a very long time. Stormy weeks make people have extra problems in so many ways.

I have warmed up, drank my coffee, and the sun is filling the house with light! How exciting, haven’t seen it in days!

Have a great weekend!

Vicki
