Saturday Morning Coffee

This week settled into more of the normal routine around here. Work had its predictable ebb and flow. The weather had a few breaks in the snow and wind to have sunshine with a tiny bit of warmth. February is rapidly flying by!! The first week is over already!

Today we are going to watch our son in a play that he has been working very hard on. It’s a drama and not a musical so I look forward to this very much! We will spend the night, have breakfast with him, hit Costco on the way home for Superbowl snacks and I took Monday off because I really thought the Lions would be in the big game. I thought I would need it off because I would be staying up way past my bedtime. I still took the day off and I plan to have a fun little day off.

One thing I really needed to get going on was long arming a quilt of mine so it is ready by the end of the month for the quild’s display at the library for March. If I get in gear I have a second quilt to long arm too. I am really pushing to finish all of the projects because they have taken up too much space in my brain rent free and these two quilts have a very close deadline! Honestly, it is amazing how unfinished projects nag at my attention, my energy and start to feel heavy. I can’t start anything new guilt free! I decided enough is enough lets finish these things up.

The purple variegated thread is perfect for this project. It has a row of pink blocks in this Family sized Potato chip quilt. Pic of the quilt top below.

I have decided to try something I have never tried before- cottage cheese. I am trying to find higher protein sources and less carbs. I saw a few ideas about blending it up and making a dip with it like ranch dressing. I also want to try making Cloud “bread”. Worst thing is I won’t like it but I need to do something different to make the scales budge. I need to buy it when I go to the store next.

Here is the recipe I want to try:

I am going to record a podcast Monday so I have been working on the show topics and writing my notes. Appreciate your patience in getting it up and posted.

I am really looking forward to having a long weekend for the next two weekends! I think it will be fab to just settle back into a nice time of doing some fun things and balance it out with a day at home to rest. I hope to do some sewing and quilting. I am not going to waste all of my time doing chores and do some much needed crafty therapy.

Here is to a weekend of fun and live theater, Superbowl and a day of resting up!
