I took last week off the blog because I had Covid again. Its been almost 2 weeks with it and l feel like I am improving. It takes so long to get over the infection and the bone grinding fatigue that also comes with it tends to linger on.
I have been back to work. Saw my doctor yesterday and got some meds to help with the inflammation in my body. I have done a lot of resting but that gets old after a while. I did bind a quilt. Watched a ton of shows and videos. And I wasn’t able to sleep well at all so I never felt rested which is always what happens when I am sick. But last night I finally was able to get a better, more solid night’s sleep. I think that means I have turned the corner and getting better.
But today is a new day and a new month. I started a new journal and the theme for Silk + Sonder is vitality. I am going to really work on my own vitality and what makes me feel that way. I also started a 100 day project with the Wonder habit and I decided to do a little collage/mixed media entry daily in my art journal using the prompts. It’s really fun and has been inspiring. Here are a couple of entries into the art journal.

I finished my sweater wrap. I love it but it isn’t easy to get a good photo of it. I will try to this weekend. I also made my Family Favorites quilt along blocks on time. Then with boredom settling in I started a simple free cross stitch from Fat Quarter Shop with the stash items I had on hand.

I have been working hard to find ways to keep hope alive. I get discouraged when when I am sick and worry it is going to take all of the tiny gains I worked so hard to achieve with long Covid. It hasn’t been 3 years yet, but I am ready to see more improvements and I am sure my doctors are also. March 15th is Long Covid awareness day and I plan to do something to help others be aware, not sure what that is yet. I signed up for a online lecture for latest developments and research at the Long Covid conference. I hope that there will be people continuing to research Covid and looking to find treatments. Until then I have to just keep hoping that will happen in my lifetime.
I had a breath of spring for several days this week and that melted all the snow on the roof, knocked down the snowbanks so I can see other cars better when drivind and the sun is such a welcome sight. Winter is back with wind and snow overnight but I can see that it is coming to an end soon. Always brings better mood and energy when you see daylight becoming stronger and banishing old man winter.
I need to finish a binding and get my quilts to the library at 8 am Monday to have our quilts hung for the guild’s Quilt month display. I am excited to be part of the quild. I enjoy the challenges and It keeps me sewing with a purpose. The members are also very nice as I get to know them I am glad for the community connection.
I hope to get more details shared about the projects I am working on this weekend by recording a podcast. I am also still wanting to do a long form video for YouTube but I just haven’t decided what I want that channel to be about. I needs to be pretty cohesive and I haven’t got there yet.
Be Creative!
