I had a lovely week of quilting and making things. I didn’t feel as drained from work as I have been so I was able to do things I enjoy with that energy. I feel better when I am able to have more balance in life and as the old saying goes all work and no play makes Johnny a dull boy , well it makes me dull and very, very grumpy.
I was able to finish my black and white quilt. I took it to the Library for the guild’s display for March along with my blue and white Petite Four quilt. Tuesday night I went to guild meeting . I missed the technique class but got the literature on that and now I am prepping for next months technique class-Rope Bowls! There is a bit of prep needed before the class. Here is a Facebook post about the library display!

I also signed up for 2 classes since the teachers are in area, they only come up twice a year. They are not crafts I would do at home, and I am finding I need a little bit of direction to figure projects out these days. I used to take pride in just figuring it out and doing it cheaply. I find that very frustrating these days. I hope I see people I know at the classes and can reconnect after a long winter home. I signed up for the resin pour class and chose my item to paint. I signed up for the sea glass succulent class.

I am finding more and more information on Evenbrite for classes in the state so I may do more! Maybe some will be near my Mom and sister so we could take a class together, that would be fun.
I got into a cross stitch mood and nearly finished a Tiny Modernist freebie on FQS

And I sewed the last star from the Lori Holt Stitchy star pattern , it was definitely a challenge to sew all these stars but I want to do more stars in different colorways!

I think all of the creativity has come from doing my daily Wonder habit now turned 100 day project. I plan to talk more about that in an upcoming podcast but I am loving how investing in a little bit of time doing a creative jump start has helped send me down a more creative path to start my day!
I also believe that having a little more sunshine, getting over Covid again, less snow and cold has been very helpful. I will freely admit by February every year that I have a good case of seasonal affective disorder going and I have stopped tying to hide that. Vit D is important but Vit D from the sun is best! The issue is getting out of town in Feb is not easy so just driving to an airport in a blizzard to go to a warm destination doesn’t always happen for people. I have been a lets just ride it out until better weather when travel is less stressful. I may have to change that mindset ! Were at 185 inches of snow this winter, I hear that is setting a modern record, yay us. LOL
We have glorious sunshine this morning. I just opened a new can of Tim Horton’s coffee, my dear housekeeper came and worked her magic in my home so I have a weekend to start my new quilt. I am so excited. AND this week after we move to daylight savings time our sunsets will start to be at 7pm.
Spring is right around the corner.
