Work has been so busy since January, and this week was more of the same. I was also training a new employee, so I felt double duty all week. I would come home at night very tired, make dinner and attempt to do a few things but not much happened. I even fell asleep in my chair most nights by 830!
I have made a few stitches on my cross-stitch project. I made a few entries in my art journal. I made journal entries in my Silk and Sonder daily. I have a mental health sticker book where I draw one sticker out of the bag and write a little note to myself.
I tried to sew a block yesterday and got about halfway through before I had to stop. Maybe this weekend I will have more energy to give to crafts. I need to build up my energy. The battery is very low between work and coming back from vacation where I felt really rested and recharged. I think that means a lot of self care, rest breaks and just rest. So the podcast I want to record may wait a little bit.
This weekend is all about spring cleaning. My husband and I are tackling the basement. There are items there that need to go to the annual junk day pick up. I have a closet that I am going to go through also. Junk day is in one week so we need to stage the items that are going so we can just start taking it to the road over the next week.
We also have a ton of spring yard work. I started hand raking my flower bed out before the rains came this week. The rest of the yard will be done with our tractor and hopefully we can get it cleaned up. The ice storm branches and limbs we piled up weeks ago were just removed this week so we can move forward with space on the curb for bagged yard debris. And junk day stuff as mentioned above. It all happens at once doesn’t it!!
I had a great time on vacation. I enjoyed having my kids and grandkids there. I hope we can do it again one day. It is very expensive and that is the barrier to having it happen annually. I really need to win the lottery! If you want to see photos and places we went check out my IG account listed in the side bar.
I have been reading a daily affirmation from this website I recently discovered. It is the largest online website with affirmations it says. I love that you can pick affirmations for different topics too. These make great journal prompts.
Here is the website: https://www.affirmations.online/
Today’s affirmation is a nice reminder that joy comes from each moment we mindfully live with gratitude and wonder. I just love this website and it gives me loads to think about.

I hope your weekend is great! I plan to do some fun things in with the chores. And I am looking forward to a much quieter work week, I already looked ahead to the schedule!
