The week was full of air pollution from forest fires in Canada. I enjoyed the sun while it was out but I think I enjoyed the rain more because it watered the plants outside and cleansed the air of so much smoke. It was not a fun thing that I have to plan happens often when the weather heats up.
I had headaches, eye aches and sinus issues all week. I did see my eye doctor for a routine exam and she told me that I was having ocular migraines. So the headaches were probably migraine related. I am lucky that it was not as painful as they could be but they were not fun. It made work a little more annoying and I sat in darker, quieter rooms when I could.

I have been seeing wonder in each day. I have to say that plant growth is really nature’s miracle right now. I enjoy seeing the growth each day in the garden and now we are seeing blooms. This week it is iris and columbine blooming. I go outside when I can and pull a few weeds to keep the garden looking neat and tidy.

I have been stitching away on my Make a wish cross stitch. I finished the queen sized quilt on the long arm frame now I need to bury the loose threads, that took me months. I am going to load an art quilt collaboration with a friend this weekend. She pieced it and I am going to long arm it for a local fiber art show. I will show you when it is done.

The most fun I had this week is I took a day off of work and went to a studio for a collage with paper class. I started the blue jay by tracing an image and then learning how to build up the picture. I still have to finish it but I learned so much and hope to take more classes! I am finding that inspiration has been coming back with the new experiences and challenges. Collage making is really much harder that I thought. They make it look so easy on YouTube in 12 minutes!
I have been doing Fat Mum Slim’s photo a day on Instagram. I really like the quirky prompts because it is all about real life this month. Unfiltered and messy. The blooper reels and quirky days. I thought it would be fun to post them on Instagram and FB. I don’t think I will do them every month but this one really spoke to me. I am also posting pictures of my summer of wonder.
The theme this summer is inspiration. Where I find it often in the oddest moments. It’s about seeing the light sparkle on the water in the bird bath, the dancing of blooms in the summer breeze and being with people as they laugh. I am finding that just being curious about what is happening around me, seeing the beauty and joy is where inspiration is. Right there in plain sight.
Have a great weekend,
Vicki
thanks for having coffee with me ! I am so concerned about those closer to the fires!
i have been watching birds raising young in my soffit. When they leave we will patch it up. The flowers are brining some color and fun to the garden.
I hope to get more movement on some creative projects today

I am so thankful not to live closer to where the fires are happening right now, we also are affected in NW Ontario and as much as it’s affecting me I can only imagine how much worse it could be.
Your quilting is lovely, I really do enjoy sharing my morning coffee with you 😊
Isn’t spring amazing, the robins under the deck fledged on Friday morning. I love watching the whole process…
