Saturday Morning Coffee

This week has been a routine week of work, cook meals, grocery shopping, exercise, knit or stitch a little, shows and bedtime. I have not had anything wild or exciting happen. Last weekend I did go to a highland game and a family reunion. Next weekend is the Grand Rapids quilt show.

I have decided that since I spend most of my time in the routine days of work and mundane tasks, I should really be leaning into those moments. Its a boring life otherwise. I have loads of things going on for upcoming weekend and some fun classes I am going to take, too. But where I spend so much of my time is in the ordinary, routine and mundane world of work and home.

Summer has flown by as it always does. I feel like it will be over in 2 weeks when Labor day comes around and school starts. For the last two weeks of summer, I plan to really pay attention to each moment.

I want to sit outside and have a coffee

Chat with friends

Listen to the cicadas and birds

pull a few weeds and watch the last few blooms in the garden

Work on flower hoop embroidery

soak up the sun

go to a Lake and look for rocks

check out some art studios

breathe the summer air when its clean and fresh

meditate and pray as the sun comes up

leisurely walk along a trail looking for wildlife

Take a photo of a quilt outside

Squeeze the last drops of summer out because I can see a few leaves changing color, the air is getting crisp at night, and the plants have hit their seasons growth. Fall will be here before I know it and September brings the fall projects, football, New Year for school and renewed goals for me and the shift towards the shorter days and longer nights.

Enjoy the weekend and I hope you have time to squeeze out the last drops of summer, too

Vicki
