It has been unseasonably hot here and the first touches of color on the trees are not progressing because of the heat. Today it is supposed to be in the 80s. I am not upset about it because it has felt like we have had an extension of summer. it has given us some time with sunshine before it becomes the long dark days of fall. The daylight hours are getting shorter and next week we should be seeing more seasonal temps.
I should have been thinning out my garden. I should have been doing some deep decluttering. I should have been doing a lot of things that you can do in warmer weather. Instead, I have signed up for several classess and that has been amazing. Especially since all but one are at least 45 min drive from my home. Love driving in glorious weather.
I have thrown 2 pots in pottery class and made several slab built dishes

I have also spent time in the glass fusing studio:

I have hit the half way point in the pottery class and I definitely will be taking one day classes in the future. 6 weeks has been a commitment but oh so worth it for the foundation.
I feel so accomplished and proud of the new things I have made. It has given me a little creative jump start that I needed to dive back into my quilting and sewing projects. I do have a shirt pattern and another type of jacket pattern to sew. I am excited to try them.
I am really looking forward to seeing the play my son has been rehearsing for. Opening weekend has begun. Tomorrow we will have brunch and then go to the matinee. One of my favorite authors has a play Agatha Christie’s Mousetrap! It will be the perfect way to wrap up the weekend.
I have no idea what next week will bring with my pottery class. I hope to pick up my fused glass projects and see them in the finished state.
Have an amazing weekend, and watch for a podcast to be posted later today and I will talk more about these crafts, what else I have been up to in more detail.
