Rain falls and a little fog is settling in this morning. I have been enjoying such a nice warm fall and it cooled off yesterday. Then the rain. I think the leaves will be falling off the trees quickly, now. It’s amazing in October how one day it is really dark in the mornings and dark early in the evenings. I have been making things cozy here with candles, fall quilts out and some Halloween decorations. And I have all of my pumpkin decorations out.
I have been working on celebrating the fall before winter settles in. I have been taking classses. I have made all of the pieces from the clay in my pottery class. the last two Saturday’s will be glazing and then picking up all my finished pots, plates, bowls and decor. I am really excited because the test pots with glaze showed that the final transformation of each piece is underway. Pottery has so many steps with risks of it not working out that when you have a finished piece in your hands it is a very amazing, magical moment.

I have been working in the following premise seen online
Routine keeps you alive, novelty makes you feel alive.
My daily routine has been pretty consistent for years. I have been able to get things done, go to work, exercise and make things. But it does get really boring, and taking classes like the quilted jacket class, pottery class, and fused glass class are such novel experiences it really makes me feel so into the moment and enjoying each day.
I do enjoy going places and seeing new things. And I will continue to do classes. Right now I am doing Fodder challenge classes, finishing an art journal class both online and then at the end of the month is the free workshop Making Zen online.
I hope you have had some fun experiences and novelty this week! I am looking forward to more and to glazing my pottery pieces to see the magical transformation after they come out of the kiln.
