And just like that, I blinked and November has arrived. Clocks are changed back an hour tonight. I had a very enjoyable Halloween. I walked to the quilt shop, sewing store and grabbed a coffee while wearing my quilted witches hat. I worked and had a quiet evening at home.

This week I worked on a few exercises from my virtual classes. I made an art journal page using a few pieces from a fodder paper I made. It wasn’t meant to be pretty or have a particular outcome. I was reacting to the paper, and filling in the spaces intuitively. I enjoyed the process and the pages are ok in my journal. I have one more lesson in the Fodder challenge and they are over but I have a lot of lingering ideas to keep practicing like the Hamsa hands which I made more this week.

These little exercises help me feel calmer, grounded and present. I am enjoying expressing myself in this way after a while words are hard to find. This feels more instant gratification than working with textiles which I still absolutely love.
I wrote a little post on Substack and thought I would share it here:
This week has been a lovely sunny week to wrap up October. I had a more reasonable work pace. I dabbled in making more goals for myself and to be more efficient at work. I started to declutter ancient files and things I no longer needed to save. Its always great to make space for new things and I also had a few laughs about old papers that were not digital yet.
I have the weekend to shift into November. The theme for affirmations is gratitude, calm and self care. And since Saturday is the first day of the month there is an extra article to read today and I enjoyed it!
https://www.affirmations.online/25-cozy-saturday-affirmations-to-start-the-new-month-with-joy/
I particularly like this affirmation as I start the new month: This month, I focus on peace, purpose, and progress.
I am wrapping up my Clever Fox self care journal and I highly recommend it! I would buy it again. Monday I start a new themed journal and it is a gratitude themed journal. I think I am going to love it! I have morning journaling, evening reflections, and weekly exercises. These journals are more affordable and I pair this with the affirmation website and the short few min long morning podcast by Radio Headspace and I feel I have a fuller and better experience than that old journal I was using. They even have YouTube videos showing the journals and how to use them so you know what you are buying!
I feel so much better since I started journaling. I kept wondering why and I came across this article that reinforced my beliefs why :
Its a good read and helped me understand why I feel so much better since I started a private journal. I keep a few, and many I throw out over time. The act of throwing away all that old stuff is also very therapeutic in letting go of the old and moving on.
Hope your week was great!
