Fantabulous Scrappy Star #7

I can’t believe we are already on the 7th block of this quilt along! Angel is going in order on the final layout. I am paper piecing the 8 inch star with 4 inch centers. This week I paper pieced using Angels center pattern and It’s so Emma flying geese papers from her shop! And the mat in the photo is an alpaca mat she sells also. So good for pressing and if your allergic to wool you will love not having the irritation that comes from a wool mat!

Angel has a fantastic tutorial on YouTube if you would like additional assistance in piecing. I learn so much from Angel every time I watch her videos. She even taught me a new thing this week in a comment.

I was today years old to learn that arrows in most patterns for quilting indicate ironing directions.

mic drop. I didn’t know and now I can press for a flatter block!

I am going to sew more sashing this week and I am thinking about making my cornerstones a scrap of fabric and not pieces because my square is only 3.5 inches. A little small to piece a 9 patch.

I am so thrilled to be part of this quilt along. I love this stash buster and the pace of the quilt along is nice so you can make scrap decisions along the way. You can join and easily catch up!

I would love to have you join me for my podcast and hear me talk about my creative adventures! You can see some of my final pieces from my beginner pottery class!

Create on!
