The festive gatherings have begun. I had a work lunch yesterday with the folks who work in my office. It was great to sit and chat since I usually go home for lunch. After work my team met for dinner and drinks at a local ski resort. We brought our partners and had a great time. I am looking forward to my family Christmas on Sunday.
I have been working this week but it seems to have taken a slow down for the holidays. I think that is a much needed break since most of the office is winding down for vacation over the holidays and I plan to take time off until after the new year myself. I will be taking two weeks off from the blog.
December seems like a time when I have loads of journaling to do in preparing to leave the old year, be in the deepest part of winter, and think about the new year and all of it’s possibilities. I am learning to let go of things that don’t work for me anymore and to begin the seeds of what I want next year to be by planting the seeds of it now. I have some better habits to slowly begin. Projects that I can begin now and prepare for all the things that happen when spring arrives like a spring cleaning, gardening and leaving the hibernation of winter into the sunlight and energy of spring.
My winter projects will be long arming, finishing two quilts I am sewing, my granny square cardigan and my art journal. I plan to continue to stage the decluttering to go to the road if it can’t be donated over the winter. I want to keep digging deeper into my things to see what I really need as I declutter this house and have it ready for next year!
I am expecting new chairs to be delivered today for the living room. That’s very exciting. I am also enjoying my early Christmas gift of my smart bird feeder with a camera!
Off to get my coffee and prepare for the day! Merry Christmas all and I will have a coffee with you after the new year!
