Fantabulous Scrappy Stars

We are on the 11th week of the Fantabulous Scrappy Stars Quilt along! This is hosted by Halo Inspirations Quilt shop and designed by Angel. She also has a YouTube channel that will have a a tutorial under the same name as her quilt shop.

This is an adorable block that I feel is very unique. I am paper piecing smaller blocks and the center is 4 inches. This block is scrappy and I loved the look of having each colored fabric be a different one like Angel designed.

Its such an adorable star! I am using the flying geese paper piecing pads for the star points.Makes this block a snap to sew!

I need to spend some time before we sew the next block making the sashing strip set so I am not furiously sewing during the assembly phase at the end of the quilt along. We have enough blocks sewn that I can start laying out the quilt on the design wall and not have pockets of the same fabrics and colors pooling on the quilt. This is the part of doing a scrap quilt where it takes a little more work in making decisions on where to place some of the scrap fabrics.

The measurements on this picture are for the 12 inch blocks

I hope you check out Angels shop and blog here:

I am having a great time making these blocks and I hope you do too!

Did you know over my holiday vacation I visited Angels shop and gave her a huge hug? But I forgot to take my quilt blocks to show her my progress lol!

It was the best visit and very inspiring to talk with her!
