Our first thunderstorm of the year happened last night. It rained all night and that means it melted a lot of snow. We have had a lovely week of warmer weather, and its been great. I still have a lot of snow in the yard but it is less than it was. Its encouraging that spring will be soon. I am hearing the birds sing and they are visiting the feeders, which is very exciting

I made a tote bag this week using 2 panels. I need to topstitch around the very top to keep the lining down inside the bag. I went to quilt guild and started sewing together the panels I had prequilted prior to the meeting. We were given directions on how to assemble the panels. I didn’t have enough fabric for the lining so I finished the project at home. I have made bags before but not using soft and stable for the body. I loved using it and how the project turned out. I will take the left of soft and stable and make a sewing machine cover using similar construction techniques. Love the big bag and it can stand on it’s own!
I finished my Lori Holt Sew Happy top and it will wait it’s turn to go on the long arm. I prepped the back for my Lori Holt Sew Scrappy spools I did a couple of years ago during a quilt along. I am excited about long arming my quilts and the ones my Mom has here. My back is feeling better and I need to finish up these projects. I am going to only piece the current project and sew non quilt things for now. I hit a bit sale online at Hobby Lobby and ordered batting, In addition to a Fat Quatershop order for batting, floss and white fabric. I will be quilting up a storm here !

I am going to plant my zinnia seeds this weekend. I am using the milk jug method and hopefully they will ready to plant by Memorial day. I hope they transplant well and bloom.

I am so happy we are seeing winter slowly come to an end. I know we will have cooler weather and a snow storm or two yet but I have come to the other side of winter and the sun is returning, yay!
