I borrowed this book from my friend Holly. She makes very liberated quits and they incorporate several curved pieces. I have been interested in this method since I saw her last quilt and she loaned me this book to learn the technique. I am going to read the chapters (shocking, I am bad about that!) and then do the lessons in order as directed by the author.
Here is the first lesson, and it turned out just like it was supposed to. I was surprised because it was so easy.
OK, I have not been blogging much over the past few weeks. What’s up with that? I am not sure. It has been very, very cold. Subzero many mornings and that leads to me feeling a bit tired. I have had tons of secret sewing. I have also had stress at work with concerns about who may get hours reduced and the lay off word has been used. So I guess I have been a bit stressed about it. But, I have been optimistic with the increase in customer quilts and that life is good otherwise, here are a few positives.
The twin grand babies are healthy, growing and adorable, I hope to see them soon.
A trip to Scotland is happening and we are going to the Masters World Highland Games in the fall.
My son is home from college and we are having a nice visit.
My husband and I have had several very nice weekend trips in February.
I am very grateful for it all. Family, love, health and the rest will fall into place as it always does.

Isn’t it lovely when something turns out like it is supposed to? Curves actually are easier than we expect–at least I found that to be true. Good thing because I like ‘em.

Looks like you had fun cutting curves. I have some pieces I made using that technique when I friend showed it to me–they are all quilted and ready to become a jacket … someday 😉
