I love testing patterns. It pushes me to try blocks  I would never make of my own volition. This block is one. Its adorable,  dont get me wrong but it is applique with a million tiny pieces! Not my strong suit. I did not embroider the details on this little hedgehog like his eyes. Here is a pic from the magazine:

I think this is really cute and worth the extra effort for a kids quilt. I will share the dozen or so blocks I tested patterns for. You will see my piecing skills in all of its phases…. the good the bad and the ugly.
Trends for this issue? Lots of tiny pieces, applique and some inticate stuff! There were some easier blocks, too, so there is something for everyone in this issue.
