Machine Quilting Monday!

What started out as making Pat Sloan’s Children’s Library quilt along and part of her Solstice Quilt a long (half sized) I made a quilt top mash up. And it turned out to be lovely with this fat eight bundle I was given for some work. It is by Moda and getting in touch with my inner trad quilter with a little modern twist was my plan.

I decided to quilt it in an all over wavy feather. I used Quilter’s Dream Wool batting and it is divine. What loft! It quilted up so well. When I was done I decided to roll the quilt back on the frame and add a leaf vein to each part of the now leafy feather. Unfortunately, one edge of the batting got caught and I stitched the wool to the back. I did a little surgery and I am not ripping stitches today. It is off the frame and done is better than perfect as Angela Walters says!

Here are some photos of the project. I have one seam to hand stitch back closed too. Then  in the fall, I will bind it!

Quilt on!
