It is the last week of making blocks for the Best Friends Quilt along! This week features the courthouse steps. These blocks seemed to make up very quickly using the foundation paper piecing papers from the Fat Quarter Shop! I love their foundations so much this is the second quilt I have made using them. I am also planning a third! If you haven’t tried their preprinted foundation paper piecing pads, I highly suggest buying one and trying it out!
It is so lovely that I had one of my best quilty friends help me by sewing half of the blocks. Angel of Halo Inspirations and I had so much fun making this as as quilting bee style quilt over the miles with her living in Virginia and I am in Michigan. We have been able to keep in touch while sewing this and it has made it that much more fun. Memories sewn in every stitch!
Here are the first three weeks of the Fat Quarter Shop’s Blog post with all the info for you to join in and make your own quilt!

They will post week 4 on the blog on Thursday of this week. Next week is the final reveal of the quilt! I can’t wait to show you the finished quilt! Yes, it is quilted, bound and photographed. I deviated from the pattern a teeny bit. I didn’t change the number of blocks but we will see if you notice what I did a little differently to make it our quilt. I think we are pondering naming it Friends Under one Star. I have also done a blog post a week about the blocks I have sewn as well as a few videos linked in my posts. Angel has also done videos on her YouTube Channel.
I couldn’t help but make a TikTok video about the journey from blocks to quilt!
Quilt on!
