Saturday Morning Coffee

Another week in the books. It was announced in a meeting the office building where I work is being closed and beyond repair. It will be an interesting journey to see where the Agency has us move to. It will all take months and there is no plan announced yet. Lots of time spent in that old building, however, I am looking forward to something new. I guess that means I need to start sorting all the office stuff I have and start throwing away old things and bring home other things. Do I really need continuing education credit paperwork from 20 years ago? No, I think I am safe to pitch it.

Another project this week was filling out more forms for Delta to see what they would do about a mishandled bag, and it was damaged. They are getting me a new one! I am waiting for the link to go to their website to pick one out. I want a wild and crazy color! I am so surprised they are going to replace it! Just email them if it happens to you right away and take pictures. All the time spent on this was totally worth it!

I had a nice leisurely summer’s week. I painted some watercolor fussy cuts and a background. I sewed together all the granny square quilt blocks and now I have most of the sashing and cornerstones ready to join up the rows! I pressed my Sewcialites2 sampler quilt top and back to get ready to load on the long arm frame. All slow and leisurely projects that I love doing.

I am sad to say that I have seen the early maples with red leaves on them already. It’s a reminder that summer is short and enjoy the second half. This afternoon we are going to the car races in Marne, Michigan and then coming home tomorrow. I am looking forward to the trip, seeing our Son and having a little adventure.

I am going to do a quick tidy up around the house this morning, pack my bag and have a lovely summer’s evening out.

Here is an update to what the garden looks like, It’s is all on it’s own this time of year and it seems to love the heat!

May your coffee be strong but not bitter,

Vicki

  1. I hope the new location is not too far away. But it is a good excuse to get rid of stuff and take only what you need. There better be a good place to display your seasonal wall quilts! The oppressive heat is overwhelming here so not much happening for me except some sittin’ and stitchin’. The heat means I have been up since 6 taking care of my container garden. I’m certainly finding out what does well in containers. Your weekend sounds fabulous! Have a wonderful time!
