Make it Monday

I have been home sick for about 3 weeks with Covid. I was watching YouTube when a recommended video came on my feed making crocheted pumpkins. I loved it so much that my first trip out of the house in 10 days was to drive to Walmart and go to the yarn section. I decided to use a less expensive yarn by called Lion Brand home town vs the Lion Brand Wool Ease used in the video. I think that wool ease may give more distinct rows and structure to the pumpkin. However, Wool ease yarn was 3 times the price. I was looking for a project that was under 10 dollars and to use up some of the things in my stash for finishing.

I didn’t have any cinnamon sticks to put on the pumpkins for stems. However, I did find some cheap wooden knitting needles and a crochet hook that I really didn’t like floating about in my craft stash. I thought they made cute stems, and they were long enough to skewer through the pumpkins to hold the stack in place. I added a few silk fall leaves in between the big pumpkin layers, and I had a big square of burlap that I upcycled from my stash.

I am thrilled with the ease of this project. It was some of the best medicine I had while I was healing up and it looks great in my fall display! Here is the YouTube video by Erica Arndt so you can make one too. I did not need to purchase the pattern that inspired her!!

Happy Making!!
