Saturday Morning Coffee

The last few days have been really cold, windy and snowy. I am not thrilled about it because I want it to be spring weather. I know it is really weeks away, but I was getting lulled into thinking the weather in Feb and early March signaled an early spring. Nope, not yet. I am under a quilt and waiting for my coffee to brew. I was rudely woke up at 6 am by a loud plow truck plowing my neighbor out and then the beeping every time they backed up. It sounded like an alarm clock.

I went to the quilt shop yesterday on my lunch break. I bought a batting for the Petite Four Quilt that I am loading on the frame. They had a nice silicone thimble for 80 cents and I am testing out some floss they carry called Cosmo. The colors are beautiful and for 1.50 I will see if I like how it stitches on my slow stitch project. I was able to get out of there for less than 25$

Since we have been snowed in over the past few weekends, we have been watching some YouTubers who have bought derelict properties and are trying to make them livable. It is interesting to see because most of the folks we are watching are in the UK. I have no plans to buy a money pit aka derelict property but to see how they are doing it and the gamble if it is going to work out makes for good viewing.

Went to Costco this week and bought some road trip snacks as well as healthier foods to eat this week. I have to say I do like the Starbucks Egg bites for breakfast. It has been a struggle trying to find lower carb breakfast foods. I just warm these up in the air fryer and they are good to eat. I have a week to get ready for our Spring Break trip and I need to find a few more items in closets to take to my daughter’s house as we are stopping there for a few days on our weeklong vacation.

So that is my plans for the weekend, go through a closet, clean up, work on long arming a quilt, sticking to my eating plan, a little exercise and keeping warm. Nothing exciting. I found a group on Facebook called Dull Women’s Club. I think I need to join because it is a group that celebrates the ordinary, dull life most of us live!
