Saturday Morning Coffee

A lovely summer week. The days flowed gently from one to another. Work was unremarkable and I was able to unwind each evening crocheting one granny circle.

The highlight of the week was Amazon Prime days. I had been putting items in the shopping cart and then checking this week to see if they were on sale. Most of the items were! I tried to not go overboard with deals but I did get some lapel mics that I wasn’t planning to get. I want to use them for making videos.

What else did I buy? I yarn winder for 15$

A muli color pack of Frixion pens, the new sharpie acrylic paint pens, a lap desk, moisturizer, and vitamins. I felt like Christmas had arrived! I love looking at all the things on Prime days but it is the everyday items or small ticket items that I will purchase.

Today I want to finish winding my yarn into cakes. It is so easy and keeps the yarn untangled! Other than that, I have no real plans so that leaves the day wide open for possibilities. Maybe I will finish up my second family sized potato chip quilt, maybe I will cross stitch. Maybe I will do laundry. Not sure but I am going to embrace the day and enjoy.

  1. I got a few smaller items on my wish list but I splurged on a mini Aliso iron on Prime days. I used to think making myself get up to the ironing board was good exercise but working on my current project (Road to Tennessee quilt for a friend who is moving there), I realized I was finger or roller pressing a lot to not get up so much so finally caved. I’m still working on my sewing room but got quite a bit done in my first official semi-retirement week. Felt great to get things put away and off the floor! I realized I am doing a smaller block version of the potato chip quilt! I really like the larger size too so might give that one a whirl. I think it would make a great ‘I Spy’ quilt for the kids on my list. The list that just got longer after putting my fabrics away-LOL! Have a wonderful weekend!

    • I am so glad you had a great first week of you semi retirement! And to get your sewing area set up is great. I love my mini iron and I am so happy to have one next to the machine. I can’t do the up and down anymore and it’s just more efficient to get things pieced!
