I did not have a March blizzard on my bingo card for this month. Snow yes, but the serious snows, wind and ice have been going this week and will continue through Tuesday. We have received a couple of feet of snow and a couple more may come with another 1/2 of ice. So, spring feels far off this week. At least we had times of sunshine that helped lift the spirits as old man winter returned with a vengeance this week.

I did a lot of sewing and I have nearly finished the blocks for the quilt along

And I had a brainwave on how to use the soft and stable I had left for a sewing machine cover made with fabric I had on hand! Pretty happy with the results

I have been watching the college basketball tournament, cross stitching and being a bit of a homebody. I have a few boxes to fill with items I want to declutter from the closets and put out for the spring cleanup in May. This weekend will be more homebody stuff because of the weather.

I am doing an experiment with growing zinnia seeds in water jugs. They all sprouted but lets see if they grow to be planted out when the freeze risk is gone. I have never had success growing from seeds. I worry these are too tall and spindly to mature.

I have started a new Clever Fox journal this week, It is called Inner Peace. It is a larger size journal and has more space for free writing. I like all the journals this company has so far. I don’t get bored with the prompts and this journal has less writing prompts and more personalization for writing compated to thelast 2 journals I have purchased. I definitely recommend daily writing pen to paper in a journal; it is very helpful to keep the mind balanced and clear!

I signed up for a raw edge applique class at the local quilt shop. It is the first weekend of April for one day. I have always wanted to learn raw edge applique. I think taking a class will help as I really want to applique but so far my success is limited and I have had more disasters than I care to recall. I have a dear Jane quilt in my ufo bin and I think that I would enjoy making the blocks raw edge. There are so many applique blocks in that quilt that it has intimidated me from continuing on with it.

hope you have a warm and safe weekend,

Vicki
