I love AQS and I attend the Grand Rapids quilt week annually. I don’t usually make other shows but I do this one because it’s a national show right in my home state.
My dream is to go to Aqs Paducah and this is the year. Of course the past month has has a few hiccups. My car needed new tires and wheel bearings
My husband’s truck needed a massive repair.
The hotel we booked canceled and my husband scrambled to find a place to stay. In the end we found out the hotel we originally booked burned down and hasn’t completed the rebuild.
We both succumbed to the nasty cold going around and I am in my third week of it. I finally feel better.
I decided to get my back and legs stronger a month go to prep for this trip and I got on the floor to do exercises . I pulled both calves and achilles so I have been hobbling around. I went to a rehabilitation chiropractor and I am able to walk more.
It felt like everything was conspiring against me for this quilt show of my dreams. I also signed up for a slow stitching class at the show months ago.
Today as I wrap up my work week I am making a packing list. It’s really happening. We’re going to Paducah via Shiloh National park. My husband will continue his civil war tours even while I am at the quilt show. But I don’t want to miss Shiloh so we will start the vacation there and mid week when the show opens we will meander over to the show.
I prepared this week by finishing up projects too.
I sewed the last block in the Fantabulous Scrappy Stars qal and I have the rows assembled. Look at this tiny 4.5 inch Dresden plate!

I took the Sew Scrappy Spools quilt off the frame

and I finished the Quaker Honeybee cross stitch.
I will do a podcast when I stop coughing, hopefully that will be when we get back from vacation and I can give a full recap

I plan to post some pics from the show and my class on the My Creative Corner3 Facebook group. Join in for more real time content.
If you have been to Paducah I would love to hear about your experience and tips!
Next bucket list show is Houston and that may happen in a couple of years
Create on,
Vicki
