Its been a slow week. I went to Alma for the big highland game that is the first one in Michigan for the summer. It rained and wasn’t good weather all weekend. My husband competed but it was a bit of a bust of a weekend due to the weather. Oh well they can’t all be perfect weather!

We came home and Monday we celebrated my birthday with ice cream. Going to Mackinaw to walk the beach and look at the bridge is something I enjoy bit the .mayflies cut that visit short! They were everywhere and disgusting honestly. Swarms of them !!

I am wrapping up sewing for a block exchange and will mail the squares out next week. I will be on time, yay! I was worried I wasn’t going to have them done on time.

I crochet d a few squares. And that’s about all the crafting I did. I was tired and low energy. I was hoping to get a few more things done but I rested up instead.

Work was busy and yesterday I decided that no matter what I was weeding a few minutes after 5. I did using my favorite weeding tool and got a lot done in 20 min. If I work on the garden like that consistently it will be looking good in a few weeks! It haven’t had weather good enough to be outside until this week! It looks like a bit of a jungle! Hopefully it will be the cottage garden I envision soon.

I have a feeling after the blue moon , then the calendar will be June that things will turn around and be great for the beginning of summer. I have a couple of classes to teach this week. Quilt guild we are making a pattern I wrote for Moda Bakeshop years ago. It’s a study is scale and negative space. Here is the pattern if you would like to check it out!

And next weekend I am teaching a beginner crochet class at a camp for veterans. I am really excited for both classes!

I am thinking about my analog life project for the summer. I am thinking of slow days making things outside if possible. Gardening is always part of summer. A few weekends of going places but many at home enjoying the slow life. I am thinking hot days with ice tea, going for little walks and reading a book or two. Recapturing a few of things I enjoyed at a kid, being outside, reading and just watching the clouds roll by. Like the afternoon at the beach on my birthday, we saw the freighter and enjoyed watching it slowly float by. That sounds like a great summer. With a few highland games, a quilt show or two, seeing family and just getting all the sun we can in the next 3 months. Summer is short here and I want to make the most of it

be creative !
