I have been getting use out of my garage sale Janome Serger. I made flannel wash cloths with a travel case. The wash cloths are 2 squares that are 8 inches. The case is an 8 inch square with 3 inch strips sewn on the square to make a pocket. I am going to make another t shirt tomorrow. I feel pretty confident about my serging now.
I am doing overall swirls for this quilt. It is a twin size Tardis, Dr Who, quilt. This is for a friend. It really was fun as well as easy to piece. I am really drawn to the minimalist piecing to focus on quilting in the project. I have a few really modern minimalist ideas that I need to piece this summer. I hope to get sewing before too much time goes by.
Remember last year? It was my son’s graduation open house with a huge garage project prior to the party. We wound up replacing most of the wood on the front of the garage last year. We got one coat of paint on three sides but the weather and schedules did not allow us to finish it. Today we put another coat of paint on and I think it looks great. And better yet it is done.
I have several flowers blooming at once because winter was so long. I have been weeding today and trying to get the beds looking good, in my rustic non symmetrical style. Yes my neighbor complained about my gardens not appealing to her last summer, lol. I like the beds, and they are not fussy.
I hope to buy some petunias tomorrow and plant them in my raised beds. Too late you say? Well it was only 45 this am but wound up near 80. I also look for the clearance flowers and them try to get them to grow!
