And I spent time at home. It was nice to get some things done. I have to say that staying away from the crowds and stores was fab. I looked a local nurseries for a future fairy garden. I did get groceries. I went on a bit of a ride in the forest and saw elk. I relaxed. Hmmmm. What a concept!!! I didn’t waste time looking for stuff I don’t need. Saved money, too! Next weekend is a Highland games and I am saving my money for things I need from Ikea. A once a year trip to that part of our state.
I did a lot of stitching and a bit of drawing. Here are a few pictures. I have to say that it feels good to be creating things.
I made the lower left tangle this weekend.
I made two pair of baby shorts for the grandbabies, I have a lot to learn about using a serger and knit fabrics. However, I think they turned out better than I anticipated!
I started an art quilt with some of my stashed fabrics. I love the idea of making mini quilts or sketches as Gwen Marsten called her concept mini quilts, I went to see them at a museum last winter. I am machine sewing and then long arming the quilt. I have tons of scrap battings to try and experiment with different textures in stitches. This picture shows some ideas I am playing with. This is just the beginning of this little project. I expect that it will not look anything like this when it is done.
