IMPROV TRIANGLE SEWALONG WEEK ONE 🔺🔺🔺 Welcome! I’m so excited to kick of my #improvtrianglesewalong today. The enthusiasm shown has been awesome and I can’t wait to see what you all create! The triangle technique from my book #inspiringimprov is my favourite (though really I shouldn’t have one!) and it’s a great technique for sewers who are both new to and familiar with improv quilting. 🔺🔺🔺 WEEK ONE is about choosing your colour scheme, curating your fabric pull and cutting your pieces, all done with a laidback, relaxed approach. No long cutting lists and certainly no measuring! By the end of this week, you should have a nice eclectic mix of background and triangle pieces ready to sew. I’ve posted lots of helpful hints on my stories, so be sure to check them out. I’ll be saving the stories from each week to the Sewalong highlight on my profile, so they’ll always be available should you not catch them in the first 24 hours. 🔺🔺🔺 I’m excited to announce that this first week is sponsored by @thepurplestitches, who have generously offered to give away a fat eighth Kona Solids bundle to one lucky participant. To be in with a chance of winning, simply do the following: 1️⃣ Make sure you’re following me and @thepurplestitches. 2️⃣Post at least one progress picture (more if you like), tag me and use the hashtag #improvtrianglesewalong so I can find your posts. Each post will get you one entry into the draw. 3️⃣The winner for each week’s prize will be drawn on the Sunday evening of that week. 🔺🔺🔺 I’ll be checking in with a midweek post and sharing my own progress every Wednesday throughout the 4-week sewalong, so make sure you’re following the hashtag so you don’t miss anything! Finally, feel free to comment on the posts or reply to any of the stories with any questions you might have. But remember, there’s no right size to cut the triangles, no wrong colour to choose and certainly no one way of making a improv triangle quilt. I’ll try and answer as many as I can, as quickly as I can, though do check previous comments to see if your question has already been answered. Ready? Let’s go! 🔺🔺🔺 #improv #improvquilting #improvquilt #patchwork #quilting
