Another month is here. It sure has become the picture-perfect October this morning with blue skies and the trees are bright reds and oranges. There has been frost on the cars in the morning. I am loving the remote start on my new to me car. I have never had one and I feel quite fancy with it! That feature will be really appreciated this winter!
I was so happy that I finished my You are the Boss project. I have been able to stitch while watching football or evening TV watching. It has been great for helping me get exercise for my brain and not overdo it as I am easily tired when quilting. Above is the link to my Instagram account and you can see that I customized the middle. I have been doing Silk+Sonder journals and one thing that is said over and over in jounaling exercises is that we need to break up with perfection. I used Lori Holt’s free alphabet and stitched it. It is full of mistakes but for my first cross stitch project in 20 years, I am very happy with it.
I saw a TikTok with Dollar Store items and they made a wreath. I thought I have all the things to make a wreath using things laying about including a Dollar Store Painted sign. It is perfect for the entrance and makes a big fall statement.
I am nearly finished with long arming a quilt. It has taken me all of September. I also have sewn the blocks for the Christmastime Mystery quilt for Fat Quarter Shop. It’s not too late to join in on this little quilt. It is one block a week for 4 weeks. I realized I need lots of practice in piecing. However, the little quilt will look good on a door possibly at work.
I have big plans today to record a podcast and a Flosstube. I have the house to myself and I am not even going to do much cleaning. I am going to order some food for delivery and have an at home retreat doing a bunch of crafts. I love having at home retreats!
Have a great day!
Your wreath is so cute! We are feeling just a bit of fall but still dealing with heat so not there yet! I am the slowest stitcher ever! I have only done 2 blocks on the Your the Boss stitch. My eyes are just so tired by the time I get home from work. Another reason to look forward to retirement. But it hasn’t stopped me from buying a few new charts. 🙄. Enjoy your retreat day—sounds wonderful!
