When did August arrive? I wasn’t quite ready honestly. I went to Dublin Ohio last weekend for a highland game at the Irish festival. It was a lot of fun. I returned to a slow work week and I got a lot of busy work done. Which I find mentally draining honestly.
This was a time I decided I didn’t want to work on anything I had been working on. The crochet cardigan doesn’t fit and I need to add more squares. The quilt I was sewing is boring and I put it in time out. I did long arm a couple rows on a quilt.

I decided to put all of it away and get a meditative project back out. My slow stitched book it was perfect. I took a class with the artist who made this kit in Paducah last spring. It has very little decisions to make on these. The materials are beautiful and the project is very quirky. All things I love. I stitched several pages

I Did the neurograph doodle too!
I was really enjoying the zen moments these projects gave me and I felt anchored in the moment in a way I haven’t felt in a long time. I am going to keep trying new things to anchor me in the moment this month. I know slowing down in a fast paced world moving at the speed of light is revolutionary but I am hopping off the high speed train.
Today I am going to a pottery studio to make some houses for tea lights. Then I am going to AQS Grand rapids for a class on improv on Aug 21. Then I am going to a fused glass studio to make a Lake Michigan art tile Aug 30.
I am really working on living a slow intentional life and a big part of it is making slow projects.
be creative!
Vicki
