Saturday Morning Coffee

Fall came early this year. The leaves are starting to change colors to oranges and reds. The flower garden is on its last fall blooms and I am not quite ready to give up summer. The daylight hours are getting shorter and temps are cooling off.

I know schools are back in session in many places and football games are starting up at the local schools. I know it is really fall when the college and pro football start. I am shifting to fall mode already.

I want to get my fall decorations out and make the front stoop look better with some fun faux plants. I am aware of the lack of curb appeal that it has. I am going to start small and add to it over the years. I have my husband on board with it.

I am looking forward to a fused glass class I am taking tomorrow. I am making a Lake Michigan art piece. I will have lunch with my friend who lives near the studio.

I also have time planned to actually do some quilting. My achilles is healing up enough to allow me to use the sewing machine, stand to cut out pieces and be comfortable doing it. I am looking forward to finishing up a few quilts I have started this fall and bind several more. Not able to long arm yet but hopefully soon.

I wish I had a better story about injuring my achilles but I was walking fast in Costco a couple of weeks ago. Over 10 years ago I slipped on the ice causing an injury in the achilles and then remember my big idea of getting on the floor to exercise this spring? Yeah, standing up I pulled both of them. They haven’t been right since. I am wearing a boot for another 2 weeks. I am seeing my rehab chiropractor and getting treatments on my feet, then go back to ortho mid September. I am going to see PT at their next available appt and learn what I can’t be doing to get them strong again. So many appts. It is really annoying because I would rather spend my PTO on fun things. Such is life.

I am going to work on my podcastiversary episode today as well. I hope you will check that out when I get it posted!
