This morning I am meeting a friend for coffee in my neighborhood coffee shop. It is very small but I think I should be able to grab a seat for us to catch up and have our coffee. I may splurge and get a muffin this morning.

This week has been regular fall weather. 70 degrees in the afternoon and cooling off over night to the 40s and 50s. The skies have been sunny and some gray with rain. The autumn joy sedum is the very last blooms in my garden and I will have to pick up my fairy garden and solar lights soon. But not quite yet. I hope to keep the lights out until Halloween.
I decided I need a fall wreath. I found a great sale yesterday at hobby lobby and purchased a wreath for the entrance of the house. It is small but packs a lot of color. I am going to continue to pull out fall decorations for the house. I like having seasonal changes in the decorations even when they are subtle. Fall Quilts, pillows and cross stitch are fun to see in season.
I have been doing a lot of slow stitching. I have been making slow stitched charms that I am sewing on an oversized pin to wear or place on a bag. I have an embroidery reference book I am making and I am now practicing different stitches in it and I have started another slow stitched book page from Aitor Sariaba. I am having a lot of trouble just focusing on one thing this week because I have felt bored with the projects or I was too tired to make a lot of decisions. I think I am worrying too much about the outcome which is not what slow stitching is about. It is about the meditative process and letting the outcome or finish find its own way. Easy to say and very hard to do.
This week I have done much better in making my goals for my analog life project. I am hoping to use social media with more intention and less doom scrolling. I want to be more creative with posts and less consumption. I made significant improvements. I packed an analog bag to take with me and it has coloring pages in it and letter writing materials so I can drop a few lines to my pen pal when I have a few minutes.

I have found that this week’s slow intentional living was harder to do. I felt like I had to really put a lot of effort into it and it may be that life is slowing down more from the busy days of summer to the slow transition to fall. I really want to start a lot of new projects and not finish up. I did finish one thing. I glazed my fairy garden houses and will pick them up later this week. I learned that slow, intentional living isn’t always easy nor does it come naturally. I am allowing myself to feel bored and see where that takes me creatively. It also lead me to follow a recommendation from a podcast on an audiobook and so far its really good.
Have a great week !
Vicki
