I enjoyed a beautiful mostly sunny week. Leaves are changing. The fall decorations are up. I am so happy that we have had a long extended fall without frost. It seems to give me enough energy to get through the upcoming winter.
I have been reading Diane Shiffer’s book “The smallest of joys” and have really liked it. I am implementing some of her strategies to seek small jous daily! And finding joy in the sunlight has definitely been a small joy.
I have been resting more this week and exercising more. I finished physical therapy and my Achilles feels so much better. Now to keep expanding on my exercises to build strength and stamina.
I felt like everything has been moving so slow. I decided to find some quick wins to boost me. I went to quilt guild and made a bunting from the dark blue and gold celestial fabrics.

I had so much fun I dug through my stash when I got home. I was hoping to find a mini charm pack that I had no particular plan for. I saw the teachers bunting from that size and had to have it. To my surprise the charm pack made 3 mini buntings with precut ribbon I had purchased at Michaels. I am definitely making more because these are so much fun and could be embellished with hand work too. I think one should have a bunting for all occasions because one isn’t enough!

I also finally sewed the binding I made last on my Great granny square quilt. I am hand sewing it to the back because I love hand sewing so much
Each evening I am working on my slow stitched embroidery. I may assemble the book kit this weekend. It’s from a class I took in Paducah. I think I am finished. That would feel like an instant win also. When doing improv stitching it is hard to decide when enough is enough !

I am feeding my sourdough starter today and since my ankles are feeling better I am going to make a loaf of sourdough bread this weekend. I think I am figuring out the nuances of making a good bread. Beginning with a well fed starter for a good rise.
Have a great week and watch for a podcast to be posted this weekend!
