It’s chilly this morning! 35 degrees and the house was cold when I got up. It’s been a great week because I was able to do more things.
My achilles is improving with physical therapy. Then a day it will hurt more. I have one more week to go. I am honestly tired of trying to rehab my body. So after PT I am cleared to ride my exercise bike and that’s what I am going to focus on. All these appts and having to take time off work gets old very quickly.
I am going to see our son in a local community theater tonight. He is in The Addams Family play. What a great way to kick off October!
I started putting my fall decorations out on my porch yesterday. The flowers did go as far as I hoped but I think a few bows and pumpkin should make it cozy

I am happy to say I have my slow stitched fabric book nearly finished! I want to add just a few more embellishments and then assemble the fabric book. I have a few more kits by Aitor Sariaba and I plan to stretch myself by stitching more !
This week I have been fascinated and maybe a little obsessed about the Bayeaux tapestry. It is in London temporarily while the museum in Bayeaux is being remodeled. This a very old medieval embroidery that documents the battle of Hastings 1066. I have been studying British history with my husband on YouTube and a podcast called the British History podcast. This tapestry is mentioned over and over it has its own unique stitch pattern too. I watched Sarah Homefreys video about it and learned the stitch. Then I bought her fun pattern.
Then I had AI make a strip inspired by Bayeaux tapearey… so fun , maybe I will embroider that one day

Quilt guild meeting is next week so I pushed myself to use my sewing machine and finish the top of my color challenge quilt. I pulled some fabric and cut it for a bunting class we’re doing whick I am very excited about ! I also cut and sewed a binding. I have been putting these tasks off and in just a few min each the task is done! Yay, now I can bind a quilt and work on it for my hand stitching time.

I have learned lessons this week on not getting discouraged when I can’t do things I want to because of injury or illness. I really want to do some things that I can’t yet. Like long arming and going for walks, or even getting groceries. It’s amazing something so seemingly not serious really hampers your life. Tendonitis is no joke and there is no pushing thru it. Just be patient and let the body heal. And adapt to what I can do.
Here is a pic of my tiny pottery houses on my tier tray. Happy October everyone!

Have a great week!
Vicki
