Saturday Morning Coffee

It’s chilly and damp. It rained all day yesterday and was a wee bit gloomy. I am hoping for some sun today. I woke up to a 27 degree morning!! The house is feeling chilly and the furnace is running.

I am kicking off a weekend of being home alone and I decided to make it a self care at home retreat . Last highland game is this weekend for my husband and I didn’t want to spend so much time in the car… 8 hours of driving to Springfield yesterday didn’t sound like a good time to me.

I am just now getting healed up from the weekend trip to Green Bay a few weeks go! Part of long covid that still shows up is low energy. They call it Me now a few years ago it was chronic fatigue syndrome. I have a totally drained battery with too much activity and need days to weeks to recover. That weekend took two full weeks and a weekend of being home and resting before I felt myself again.

Long covid is funny just when you and everyone around you think it’s gone, it reminds you that it’s still there. But it is so much better than a couple of years ago.

I did my nails yesterday! First self care choice.

Then I sewed a couple of the improv blocks from the class I took at AQS Grand Rapids. I am Really enjoying them!

I have very few plans today. Hand stitching, sewing and maybe try to load a Christmas quilt top on the frame. Try to make an Edible loaf of sourdough bread. I am going to do something I have been wanting to do and that is ride my exercise bike. I feel my energy is good enough to try 5 min. My achilles feels nearly normal. Slow and gentle.

Found my pumpkin collection at work and got them out before it wasn’t fall anymore!

I am finding that when I use pockets of my 15 min of play and creativity I am really enjoying my analog life project.

I am using my phone for so much these days but what I am doing is use it more intentionally. When I am off my phone and present in each day I can make things. Exercise. I am making progress on two books in reading. I have time to pick up the house, do a little declutter and reset.

Distractions in modern life have been really difficult for me. I feel like I am back to using my phone as a tool that I intend for it to be not my obsession or focus for daily activities.

I have been using my analog life work books and October is still available. I made November’s already and I love what it is focusing on. I am offering the workbooks at no cost here :

I have lots of small things on my radar to make progress on. I realized recently that I need to address the internal pressure to perform all the time. I need to let go of leveraging my time because I don’t always need to do that anymore. I can sit and do nothing but daydream. It’s all part of being healthy and well rested.

Enjoy your Saturday!
