Back home after taking a few days of the staycation and we went on a little vacation. One day drive from here is Columbus, Ohio and we went to the Zoo. It was a perfect trip to get back into a little travel, staying in a hotel and eating out. We picked venues at a time during the week that wouldn’t be crowded, ate at odd times and on the trip home we stopped in Dayton at the National Air and Space museum.
I could spam you with tons of pictures but here are a couple of my favorite. I had a great time. I walked 4 miles on Thursday and Friday. Today my legs are telling me that I haven’t done that in well over a year. I am elevating them and I may need to get some compression socks! I also got a little sun even with sunscreen! It was hot out. I must say it felt good to get outside, do something different and see some sights.
Now that we are home I am preparing to do my last work week at home, unless that all changes with the increase in the number of sick people in Michigan with the pandemic. We took this trip because we are fully vaccinated and went places that social distanced and there weren’t large crowds. It so happened they insisted on masks too. I don’t feel like we took any risks. It felt so good to do normal things but on the way home it was pretty sad to think that feeling of normal was a brief time because the reality of the pandemic came crashing down as soon as we hit the state line and started to read the news headlines on our phone’s news feeds.
Be it ever so humble there is no place like home. I slept really well in my own bed. I made my brand of coffee this morning and had a healthy breakfast. I plan to work on my epp, iron my next quilt to go on the frame and tidy up the house and potentially the garden. I need to work on getting stronger physically, wow am I sore!
